Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes 800 g / 1.76 lbs
  • 4 tbsp corn starch adjust as needed
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • chili flakes for garnish optional
  • chopped parsley for garnish optional
  • oil for frying
  • Ketchup mayo, or hot sauce for serving

Instructions

  • Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until soft and easily pierced with a knife.
  • Drain the potatoes and mash them using a ricer or fine mesh strainer for a smooth texture.
  • Mix the mashed potatoes with corn starch, paprika powder, and pepper. Form the mixture into balls. If the mixture is still sticky, add more corn starch until it holds together.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potato balls until golden and crispy on all sides. Place the fried potato balls on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Season with salt and optionally sprinkle with chili flakes and chopped parsley.
  • Serve hot with ketchup, mayo, or hot sauce. Enjoy!
