Homemade Almond Butter

Is there anything more rewarding than a overflowing jar of homemade almond butter?  It's perfect for snacking with apple or banana slices, on bread, or as a base for salad dressings. With just one ingredient - almonds - you can easily make a nutritious alternative to peanut butter. Use a little salt or sugar to tailor it to your taste. Just blend it to the desired consistency in a food processor and store in a jar. Enjoy the rich and creamy goodness whenever you want!

Ingredients

  • 21 oz / 600 g almonds

Instructions

  • To make almond butter, roast almonds at 325°F / 160°C for 15 minutes.
  • Keep checking on them and moving them in between, as they can burn quickly. Let cool.
  • Move to a good-quality food processor and start blending. In the beginning, you will have to scrape down the sides a few times.
  • Stay patient here. After 10–15 minutes, the almonds will have turned into a beautiful, creamy almond butter.
  • There is no need to add any liquid, oil, etc. Enjoy!
